WATERSHIP DOWN
1978 Original Production Animation Art Cel
FROM THE OPENING FABLE about EL-AHRAIRAH
based on the novel by Richard Adams
Complete with a Linda Jones seal and COA!
One of the wonderful things about "Watership Down" is that both the book and the movie retain the fables/creation stories told by the rabbits. This cel is a rare one from the opening fable! SADLY, this segment, the "King Darzin fable" was not used in the final film - likely because they decided to remove visuals of people from the film.
The cel measures 12.5" x 10.5" and comes complete with a Linda Jones seal and COA. The Charles Scott Gallery is a Linda Jones Enterprise Preferred Gallery, so your artwork is direct from the company started by Chuck and his daughter and will come with a LJE COA. NOTE: Watership Down cels from the original source, of the main characters are running out. PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE YOU PURCHASE to verify this cel is still available.
"Watership Down" by Richard Adams was published in 1972. It was originally turned down by many of the big London publishers before a smaller press took it on. The movie was release in 1978 to general acclaim. It's a nice interpretation of a large novel - something often difficult to do.
