Walt Howarth (1928-2008) was most widely known as the cover artist for many Doctor Who Annual British comic albums and the John Wayne Adventure Annual. In the 1960's he did covers for James Bond Books, The Saint, The Avengers, Bewitched, Walt Disney Books, Beatles merchandise, and even some Batman titles in the 1990's.

This is an incredible example of his work from 1950. It is for the Western Novel "Cowhand" by John Sim and is the ORIGINAL SIGNED COVER PAINTING.

The title logotype and byline are actually part of the painting. The publisher's small logotype is a pasted photostat. Painting in gouache on Illustration board. The image area is 9.5" x 14.5", and it is framed to 21" x 26". We'll include a Charles Scott Gallery COA.
