Hand-Painted, Screen-Used Original Production Animation Background
from Hanna Barbera, 1979

The Super Globetrotters was a 30-minute Saturday morning animated series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions. It premiered on NBC on September 22, 1979, and ran for 13 episodes. It was a spin-off series from Hanna-Barbera's Harlem Globetrotters.
And this is a rare hand-painted production background used on camera to make the show. Cels are placed over a background and photographed as a single frame that then appear on the TV. AND backgrounds are much more rare than cels or drawings, as there is only one background for a few hundred cels or more!
The # after the 163 is the episode number. It may be slightly different from the air order, but it should be fairly easy to find this background if you look up that episode and the ones around it (with a few exceptions).
Most backgrounds measure approx 10.5" x 14" but can vary larger or smaller horizontally. Has minor production wear.
Note: purchasing these original items from the making of the cartoons does not convey any rights to the images or characters on the cels/drawings. They remain with the original copyright holders.
