Years ago we purchased a large archive of Simpsons art from an animator who worked on the show. This piece is from that archive. It is hand-drawn art done by an animator to make an episode of the Simpsons during the production of that episode. There are more Simpsons drawings available now than there used to be, but because we bought our archive over a decade ago many of our drawings are from the earliest years of the Simpsons and/or iconic images. Some of these drawings are seen in the final episode, some are "roughs" (which are earlier versions of the ones that appear in the episode), some have dialogue, some are layout drawings, model practice sheets, etc.

THIS is a very rare drawing of what may be Martin Prince (he's not identified in the show and in the drawing it says "Tenor" but it looks a LOT like Martin). The drawing DOES have actual lyrics of the "Whacking Day" song! Perhaps the biggest difference between the drawing and the final scene is that the bat is reverse on everyone as they sing.

Measures approximately 10.5" x 12.5". NOTE: our scanner may not have picked up the animation holes in the paper but they are there. First picture is a close-up - second is of the layout on the page.

Actually used in the making of the cartoon and great for collectors or to hang on your wall as nostalgic decoration!
