The New Adventures of the Lone Ranger is an American animated television series produced by Filmation in 1980. The series ran for 28 episodes over two seasons on CBS as part of The Tarzan/Lone Ranger/Zorro Adventure Hour. Filmation originally tried to cast Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels, reprising their roles from the live-action series, but could not afford the extra day of rehearsal per episode the actors required.
And this is a rare hand-painted production background used on camera to make the show. Cels are placed over a background and photographed as a single frame that then appear on the TV. AND backgrounds are much more rare than cels or drawings, as there is only one background for a few hundred cels or more!
The # after the LR is the episode number. It may be slightly different from the air order, but it should be fairly easy to find this background if you look up that episode and the ones around it (with a few exceptions).
Most backgrounds measure approx 10.5" x 14" but can vary larger or smaller horizontally. Has minor production wear including tape on top and bottom. Most have an overlay cel and many of the overlay cels have that "oily" look some Filmation cels get.
Note: purchasing these original items from the making of the cartoons does not convey any rights to the images or characters on the cels/drawings. They remain with the original copyright holders.
