Original Production Animation Cel
of Bagheera (Damaged - see below)
From the 1967 Walt Disney Feature Film,
THE JUNGLE BOOK

With a Charles Scott Gallery Certificate of Authenticity

One of Disney's classics, The Jungle Book was the 19th feature. This is an amazing cel features Mowgli's protective panther, Bagheera in a stunning full figure pose.

The cel is in great condition - the paint area is wavy, as is common in these cels that are 45 years old - though our scanner greatly exaggerates the appearance of the waviness. It appears in the scene around the 39:43 point in the movie (depending on your version - we've shown some screen caps of the scene). It is an untrimmed 16-field cel, measuring 12.5" x 16". Paint on back has some paper residue from wax paper it was stored against in the past. DAMAGE: part of the paint from his ear is missing and there is paint separation across the top of his head.

We've paired it with an 11" x 17" color laser background depicting a scene from the movie. The background image is not as tall as the cel so your mat aperture needs to be smaller than that.

We will mount this gorgeous piece of art in an inexpensive paper mat that measures 16" x 20" - so you can just buy your own frame and hang it in your home gallery. BUT this is an INEXPENSIVE mat we've shown - we recommend matting it yourself. NOTE: in most cases we have not yet mounted the art in a mat, so if you wish to have us leave it unmounted let us know IMMEDIATELY when you make the purchase, as we will often mat it within minutes. Note: our matted picture view was taken with a camera vs. a scanner, so the lights from the camera have exaggerated the waviness around his head. However the scanner pictures (no mat) are more accurate for how dark he is. We have 3 cels from this scene.
