Peter Pan is a 1953 American animated musical fantasy-adventure film produced by Walt Disney and based on the play, Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up by J.M. Barrie. It is the 14th film in the Disney Animated Canon, and was originally released on February 5, 1953.
We're not completely sure what the use of this cel was, but we'll give you all the data we have. It is hand-painted on the back and has colored lines on the front, just as the original cels from the movie. However, it does not have peg-holes. It is the standard 10.5" x 12.5" 12-field cel size. One other oddity: there is one difference between the scene in the movie and this cel, one curl of her hair is accidentally painted as a ribbon instead (see screen-shot of film). This makes us believe this may be an ink and painters practice cel, or a model cel or publicity cel. Or, even perhaps a trial cel for a proposed limited edition. It came with a color laser background from the film.
We will mount the cel in an acid-free, 4-ply paper mat that measures 11" x 14" - so you can just buy your own frame and hang it in your home gallery. We only use archival/acid-free materials in mounting your artwork. NOTE: in most cases we have not yet mounted the art in a mat, so if you wish to have us leave it unmounted let us know IMMEDIATELY when you make the purchase, as we will often mat it within minutes.
