Jay Ward Quake Cereal Production Animation Cel from a Commercial Quaker 1967-1974 69
QUAKE Original Production Animation Cel
from a JAY WARD Studios Commercial for Quaker Cereal
The original Quake, designed by Jay Ward, was a burly fellow with a miners cap. He was blamed for Quake Cereal being less popular than his sister cereal, Quisp. So, in 1967 he was redesigned as a cowboy. In 1973, Quake Cereal was discontinued after a voting contest staged between Quisp and Quake. This character made a brief reappearance in 1974, but that means this cel is at least 49 years old! It is in good shape for it's age. It has some minor line loss and some small scuffs and marks, but Quake himself looks great (see pics). This is a classic Jay Ward character! We'll include a Charles Scott Gallery COA.
We will mount this gorgeous piece of art in an acid-free, 4-ply paper mat that measures 11" x 14" - so you can just buy your own frame and hang it in your home gallery. We only use archival/acid-free materials in mounting your artwork. NOTE: in most cases we have not yet mounted the art in a mat, so if you wish to have us leave it unmounted let us know IMMEDIATELY when you make the purchase, as we will often mat it within minutes.
