Comic Strip CONCEPT Original Panel Hand-Drawn Pencil Art
SIGNED by FRED THOMAS (from LONG SHOTS fame), 1966

Fred Thomas is of course famous for Long Shots amongst other Newspaper comic strips.
He pitched Good Ol' Bo (a.k.a. Bum Luck) as a continuing character feature, a departure from his established success with one-shot gags. The feature concerned a group of hobos, offering cynical observations on society. The gags are inventive and sarcastic In these pencils-only pilot-strip breakdowns. The feature stalled in the conceptual stage, but the humor shines through. Graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 7.25" x 20.5". Moderate toning and edge-staining. Each comes with a Charles Scott Gallery COA.
