The Dick Tracy Show is an American animated television series based on Chester Gould's comic strip crime fighter. The series was produced from 1961 to 1962 by UPA. Mel Blanc was one of the voice actors on the show!

And this is a rare hand-painted production background used on camera to make the show. Cels are placed over a background and photographed as a single frame that then appear on the TV.  AND backgrounds are much more rare than cels or drawings, as there is only one background for a few hundred cels or more!

The # after the DT is the episode number.  It may be slightly different from the air order, but it should be fairly easy to find this background if you look up that episode and the ones around it (with a few exceptions).

Most backgrounds measure approx 10.5" x 14" but can vary larger or smaller horizontally. Has minor production wear.

Note: purchasing these original items from the making of the cartoons does not convey any rights to the images or characters on the cels/drawings.  They remain with the original copyright holders.
