Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was loosely based on the 1978 children's book by Judi and Ron Barrett, the film was written and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and released in 2009 to become a HUGE hit!

Fast forward to 2025 and the Sony archives joined with a number of other companies to sell items direct via an auction at Sotheby's, where we purchased an EXTREMELY rare set of preliminary character drawings from the film! If you look at the 2009 book, "The Art and Making of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" you can see that all their preliminary character and animation design was done in this style.
