Chuck Jones was a legend. His impact on animation is incalculable. Whether you're a fan of the Looney Tunes or The Grinch or one of his other films (Rikki Tikki Tavi is one of our favorites), this wonderful limited edition Chuck-Jones print is a perfect way to honor him in your collection at a lighter price point than the limited editions.
This wonderful image of Wile E Coyote was created from the original pre-production gouache on paper painting by Chuck Jones that he gifted to his friend, Lt. Jack Hill in 1949. It is a fine art print on archival rag paper with hand-torn deckle edges! The artwork measures 14" x 14" unframed. Cost includes shipping and insurance. It is facsimile signed by Chuck Jones (not a live signature).
Creative collaboration is a hallmark of the Golden Age of Animation and nowhere is it more apparent than in Unit A of the Warner Bros. Animation department, headed by Chuck Jones. On September 17, 1949 (just 4 days shy of his 37th birthday) the Chuck Jones-directed, "Fast and Furry-ous" premiered in movie theaters around the country. Lt Jack Hill first contacted Chuck in 1949 after seeing "Fast and Furry-ous". Jack was in the Army Air Corps (later the Air Force) and wrote to tell Chuck that the pilots, who were under radio silence when on maneuvers, had started saying, "beep-beep" over their radios. Of course, in those days, it wasn't possible to know who had said it and so someone else would answer with another "beep-beep" and soon the air was filled with it.
NOTE: The Charles Scott Gallery is a Linda Jones Enterprise Preferred Gallery, so your artwork is direct from the company started by Chuck and his daughter and will come with a LJE COA. fast001
