Dr. Seuss on the Loose is an American animated musical television special, first airing on CBS on October 15, 1973, and was sponsored by Nestlé. The special is hosted by The Cat in the Hat, who introduces animated adaptations of the Dr. Seuss stories The Sneetches, The Zax and Green Eggs and Ham.

And this is QUITE an amazing and rare setup! First, you have a wonderful full-figure cel of The Cat In The Hat standing 6 3/4" tall! The cel is from Dr. Seuss on the Loose and is a regular 12-field cel (10.5" x 12.5").

This is paired with a HUGE 33 3/4" x 10.5" PAN hand-painted original background with overlay cel from Time for Timer's ABC Afterschool special, The Magical Mystery Trip Through Red's Head. Yep - you're seeing the inside of Red's head!

Both of these items were from Depatie-Freleng Studios (Enterprises) in the 1970's and both are extremely rare. They have been taped together in one long presentation on the top and the bottom. We've shown screencaps of their use in the shows (the background is used quite a lot).

NOTE: there is a cut in the overlay cel that we've shown in a close-up. It is slightly less noticeable in person as our scanner has added a reflection to it. C-KO
