Marc Davis (1913 - 2000) is legendary. He is one of the most renowned Disney animation artists of all time. Most Disney artists are also, of course skilled fine artists. What folks don't know is that Disney offered life drawing classes to their artists in 1932 and Davis, attended along with his fellow artists. Davis would later TEACH a life drawing class at Chouinard Art Institute for 17 years. He did many pieces about bullfighting over his career.
This is a preliminary sketch for a final drawing (we are also selling the final). The final of this sketch was included in the Marc Davis Fine Art portfolio with 32 fine art giclées made for galleries and museums.
This is ink on paper, presented in a 17.75" x 19.75" Plexiglas frame with a mat window size of 7.5" x 9.5". It hung in Marc and Alice Davis's home for years and is signed by the artist. NOTE: frame/plexi has scratches, etc.
