We are honored to be part of the studio gallery program, which means we can offer you amazing licensed Warner Brothers animation art direct from the studio and their vaults via Clampett Studios (Run by Ruth Clampett, Bob Clampett's daughter. She also ran the WB studio stores in the malls in the 80's/90's!). And this piece, based on the characters from Looney Tunes is a knock-out!
It’s easy to see how cats can be addicted to birds. What’s not easy is getting a cat off birds. Nonetheless, Sylvester is a prime candidate for intervention in “Birds Anonymous,” directed by Friz Freleng in 1957. Of course, all is not lost. At least Sylvester sought help. “Birds Anonymous” is a hand drawn, inked and painted cel with Giclée background. Each piece in the edition has been signed by Friz Freleng.
Friz Freleng was an American animator, cartoonist, director, producer and composer known for his work at Warner Brothers on the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons. He introduced and/or developed several of the studio's biggest stars, including Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Tweety, Sylvester the cat, Yosemite Sam and Speedy Gonzalez. Freleng directed more cartoons than any other director in the studio (a total of 266), and is also the most honored of the Warner directors, having won five Academy Awards.
