Brought to life in the renowned style of Alex Ross is a fanciful tribute to the surreal British comedy group, Monty Python. Monty Python (also known as The Pythons) created their sketch comedy show, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, which first aired on the BBC in 1969. Forty-five episodes were made over four series that ended in 1974. The Python phenomenon developed from the television series into something larger in scope and impact, including touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books, and musicals. The Pythons' influence on comedy has been compared to the Beatles’ influence on music. Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin conceived, wrote, and performed their sketches, which not only had an innovative stream of conscious but also pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable in style and content. Together this band of groundbreaking cohorts became one of the more enduring icons for British Pop Culture and garnered worldwide adulation.
A true fine art piece, Alex Ross' Monty Python is a 44" x 20 1/3" Giclee Print on Canvas. Each individually-numbered print is signed by Alex Ross and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
You can choose which edition you'd like - the Regular Edition is limited to 7 prints. The AP/PP/EP editions are each limited to 7 prints. AP stands for Artist Proof and PP stands for Printers Proof. EP's are reserved for Alex Ross.
Alex Ross is a true superhero artist. Having worked on Marvel and DC's iconic comic characters (Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Captain America and more), he has also branched out to paint for the Academy Awards, The Beatles, album covers, and more! Charles Scott Gallery is an official Alex Ross gallery.
