This is a VERY rare pair of hand-drawn illustrations from the 1950's of the beloved Raggedy Ann and Andy. Done by the Johnny Gruelle company, these were used to advertise Halloween costumes! They were likely used in the actual Collegeville catalog or in an ad by perhaps Woolworths or someplace similar. 

We've shown ads from the 1950's that use very similar drawings but we haven't found the exact ad yet. We think it might be from the1959 as there is a "59" written on one of the pages. Raggedy Ann measures approx. 8 5/8" x 6 1/2" (with a rough left-edge). Andy measures approx. 9 1/8" x 5 1/4" (both left and right edges are rough).

Each is done on light board. There is age toning.
