The “Thicker Than Blood” comics were a three-issue series, written by Simon Reed, penciled and inked by Mike Ploog and painted by Simon Bisley. The artwork was created in 2007 and 2008. The partnering of Mike and Simon made for a truly unique collaboration, and these comics were an ideal subject matter for them. 


This “Thicker Than Blood: Collected Artwork Edition” Signed and Numbered Limited Edition is the large 12” x 17” full-color, hardcover original-artwork-sized edition, signed by the three creators of the “Thicker Than Blood” comics: Simon Reed, Mike Ploog and Simon Bisley. It shipped in a deluxe slipcase and was strictly limited to 125 copies. It reproduced Mike's graphic pen and ink pages on the left-hand page and Simon's richly painted artwork on the right-hand page. So, each and every cover and interior page can be compared and enjoyed in both mediums; one right next to the other! Together, Mike and Simon created 136 interior pages and 12 covers. And, in actuality this book contains six complete comics: three by Mike and three by Simon. 

ALSO COMES WITH all 3 versions of the trade paperback: Version #A, #B and the "Slime Green" Version. Version #A collects all three issues of the published comics together, presented in the form of Mike Ploog’s black-and-white artwork only.  Version #B collects all three issues of the published comics together, presented in the final full-color form of the combined artwork of Mike Ploog and Simon Bisley.  The Slime Green Cover Version collects all three published issues of the “Thicker Than Blood” comics together, presented in the final full-color form of the combined artwork of Mike Ploog and Simon Bisley. This “Kickstarter Only" edition of the TPB will be produced with a special “slime green" ink logo treatment on the front cover and will be limited to the exact amount of copies pledged by our supporters.

PLUS the Stretch Goals:

1) An 8.5" x 11", 72-page softcover sketchbook containing ALL of Mike's character designs, pencil page roughs and cover layouts. These drawings will give fans a real behind-the-scenes view of how Mike formulated the look of “Thicker Than Blood.” 

2) A really cool wax pack of "Thicker Than Blood" trading cards! Each pack will contain 8 cards, and there are only 8 cards in this set, so if you have one pack then you got a complete set! 

3) In addition to the stretch goal items, every reward level received one extremely limited edition “THICKER THAN BLOOD” metal card! There were six different cards, which feature the six original comic covers created by Mike Ploog and Simon Bisley. All six cards will be individually numbered from #1-100. Each backer received one card, randomly inserted in their package.
