Simpsons Original Production Animation Cel AND Drawing of the House Fox 2002
Original Animation Production Cel Background and Layout Drawing
"Sweets and Sour Marge" 2002
Includes a FOX studio seal on cel and Certificate of Authenticity
It doesn't get more iconic than this! From The Simpsons, America's longest running sitcom, comes this stunning pair of pieces.
An original, production-used Cel Background (an entire painted cel that was used as a background) and it's matching layout drawing from the 2002 episode, "Sweets and Sour Marge." This is the VERY LAST YEAR that The Simpsons used cels in producing the show.
Both the cel and the drawing measure approximately 10.5" x 12.5" and were released via the Collectors Portfolio program, in which 100 high-end cels were released each year from the Fox archives.
NOTES: we've shown the background with one of our standard, acid-free 11" x 14" mats and we're happy do mount it permanently in that mat for free, but it does cover/hide some of the background. Our recommendation is that you mat it yourself, once you receive it, in a larger aperture mat in order to show off the art. PLEASE let us know immediately upon purchase which you'd prefer (our mat or no mat). ALSO, we've shown TWO PICTURES of the matching layout drawing above (though there is only 1 drawing). The second picture has been artificially enhanced in Photoshop to show the "rubbing" that occurs mostly in the trees. That is when some of the surface of the paper has been removed. Finally, there are fascinating color notes in pen/marker on the back of the layout drawing that refer it items on the front.
Actually used in the making of the cartoon and great for collectors or to hang on your wall as nostalgic decoration! For more information about collecting animation art, please visit our website at www.charlesscottgallery.com
