The cover has been hand-painted in mixed media with pasted-on elements creating the title, fully rendered to 17\" x 22\" publication size on heavy art paper measuring approximately 20\" x 25 3\/4\". The illustration is dated and signed Argondezzi, likely for comic artist and illustrator Vince Argondezzi who is known to have created illustrations for other giant coloring books. A matching untrimmed proof of the cover measuring approximately 18 1\/2\" x 26 1\/2\" is included (has a small hole in it). The cover illustration shows some warping to the unpainted margins, but the art remains largely unaffected. Included in this group is the original artwork for the book cover, done in mixed-media and signed as M. Murphy. The art is on a 22\" x 25 1\/4\" sheet of Bristol board with an approximate image area of 18\" x 22.75\". The \"Giant Story Coloring Book\" type is on an overlay; the overlay has lifted some of the dark reddish-brown of the title display type, which needs to be restored. The right side of the paper is also tanned. There's also a group of eight uncut printer's proofs of the cover (at least one has issues like tape etc.) which measure approximately 25 5\/8\" x 19 3\/4\". The cover art is in Good condition with missing paint in lettering, minor handling, and some age-related toning along the right border edge. Featured in this lot is the original cover art for Pillow People - A Visit to Dream Land, a \"giant story coloring book\". Stoneway, like Parkes Run before them, licensed the use of well-known comics and pop culture characters to create oversized coloring books which were sold in newsstands and on street corners in New York City; this is from one of their many publications. Both the cover illustrator Rick Cole and text illustrator Lew Johnson were staff artists for American Visual Art Associates, a corporation regularly used by Parkes Run and Stoneway to source artists for their publications. The 18\" x 22.75\" cover image is hand-painted in mixed media on (approximately) 21 3\/4\" x 26\" Bristol board with multiple overlays.
