GEORGE RODRIGUE
BLUE DOG - "ANGEL BABY"

Screenprint in colors on paper - Limited Edition #133/150
Signed by George Rodrigue, 2000

Nicely matted and ready to frame, with a Charles Scott Gallery Letter of Authenticity

George Rodrigue (1944-2013) is of course well known for his Blue Dog artwork. And here we have an excellent example. It is a screenprint in colors on paper entitled "Angel Baby" from 2000. It is of course signed in gold ink by George Rodrigue and hand-numbered #133/150. The mat measures approximately 28.5" x 23.5". It is in excellent condition. The back of the mat has some paper residue from the previous framing back-paper (this piece is not currently framed - just matted). We will include a Charles Scott Gallery Letter of Authenticity.

George Rodrigue (March 13, 1944 – December 14, 2013) was an American artist who in the late 1960s began painting Louisiana landscapes, followed soon after by outdoor family gatherings and southwest Louisiana 19th-century and early 20th-century genre scenes. His paintings often include moss-clad oak trees, which are common to an area of French Louisiana known as Acadiana. In the mid-1990s Rodrigue's Blue Dog paintings, based on a Cajun legend called Loup-garou, catapulted him to worldwide fame.
