Felix the Cat made his triumphant return to animation with this feature film, produced in Europe with Don Oriolo, son of longtime Felix artist Joe Oriolo, as one of the producers. Originally the creation of Pat Sullivan and Otto Messmer, Felix made his official debut with the short The Adventures of Felix in December 1919, after two prototype cartoons starring a cat named Tom. At one time, Felix was the number one animated star in America, and his silent cartoons were extremely popular up to the advent of sound (and Mickey Mouse). Joe Oriolo, assistant to Otto Messmer in producing Felix the Cat newspaper strip and comic books, revived Felix's film career by way of a wildly popular syndicated television animated series in 1958. It comes with a color laser background. We'll include a Charles Scott Gallery COA.
