This is a VERY RARE chance to own one of the original storyboards used to make the beginning of the classic horror movie by John Carpenter, THE THING. Drawn with incredible detail by Mike Ploog, who worked on many many amazing films. It has also been signed by him.
This entire lot of 9 items was originally part of a special Kickstarter from Ploog and FPG. We purchased the "The Art of Ploog 'The Thing' Original Storyboard Edition." That came with a slip-covered, padded and SIGNED 320-page version of "The Art of Ploog Vol 1" You can see in our pictures of how the slipcase is customized with The Thing Art. There were only 125 of these offered!
IN ADDITION, we received a random ORIGINAL storyboard from The Thing, signed by Ploog. Ours is from the beginning of the movie and includes the infected dog, WHILE he is infecting the camp. As you can see in our pictures, the storyboard is in it's own special portfolio! (and also inside a museum grade mylar slip).
The Kickstarter had 3 stretch-goals that were unlocked and are included here:
1) FIVE 8 x 10" prints (The Balrog,” “The Mercenary,” “Night Howl,” “The Werewolf,” and “The Wraith.”).
2) An 8.5" x 11", 64-page softcover book containing several of Mike's storyboard sequences.
3) An autographed print by Mike Ploog! This hand signed, frame-worthy, high quality print will be a real tip-of-the-hat to Mike's famous 1972 cover art from "Werewolf By Night #1!" The image size will be the same as the original bronze-age comic that it pays homage to, and it will be STRICTLY LIMITED to the exact amount of pledges this Kickstarter campaign receives.
