Hand-Drawn Character Development Model

In 1965 Filmation's The New Adventures of Superman was a big hit. So in December of 1965 Filmation got the go ahead to develop more characters for subsequent seasons. There was a New York Times article about animation that discussed characters developed for the subsequent series including Green Lantern and Green Arrow. The same article included the first published picture of the animated Aquaman. And while Filmation had considered and designed characters like Wonder Woman, Plastic Man, the Doom Patrol and more, only a few made it in to the final show.

We purchased a small lot of character development models for the original 1967 Filmation show. This is 2 drawings from that lot. We believe one of them is Johnny Tane and we're not sure who the other one is.

We've mounted both drawings in an acid-free, 4-ply paper mat that measures 11" x 14" - so just buy your own frame and hang it in your home gallery. Note: we only use archival/acid-free materials in mounting your artwork.

Actually used in the making of the cartoon and great for collectors. For more information about collecting animation art, please visit our website at www.charlesscottgallery.com
